NHPR reporter Todd Bookman received a national Edward R. Murrow Award - his first - for the story Model Citizen? No. But Exeter Man Is at Center of First Amendment Dispute. NHPR was one of 128 local and network radio, television and digital news organizations recognized from among more than 5,000 entries across the country by the Radio Television Digital News Association.
Bookman’s story was among those that received a regional Edward R. Murrow Award, which honor achievements in radio, television and digital outlets from across the country. NHPR placed in the Small Market Radio category:

NHPR also received multiple awards in the prestigious national journalism competition held by the Public Media Journalists Association each June. In Division A, for stations with news staff totaling seven to 15 members, NHPR was awarded four first-place citations: Arts Feature, Commentary, Series and Writing. This was the second consecutive year that NHPR was named the top winner in the Commentary, Series and Writing categories. For 2020, the station also received two second-place citations in the Breaking News and News Feature categories.
